Strange graphics corruption after STO.

I was playing some Star Trek Online last night, after about 30 mins playing both screens went blank and then came back after about 5-10 seconds, but the game had crashed and closed.
After this I experienced some weird screen corruption, windows would look like they left their pixels in the wrong places when dragged around. Also caused some pixelated mess in random sections of the screen.
Ofcourse, a reboot fixed and all was dandy.

Just curious if anyone else has noticed strange things similar to this?
If it happens again I'll try to capture it.

I'm using the 11.8 drivers.

Funny thing is though. STO is the only thing that does it. Now that I think about it I seem to remember that I had trouble with STO previously a bit like this.

Phil don't worry probably some bug in the drivers or the game caused the graphics card not to refresh the video memory correctly. Restart as you said fixed it, keep using the card normally and monitor if it starts to do it with other games and other applications. If it does wait for the next driver release update then and again keep an eye on it, I bet it's either the game that did it or the latest driver is a bit flaky under certain situations. Seen this sort of thing many times on many types of video cards and does not mean the card is dying or anything like that in 99.99% of cases. Also from what you state it came back after 5-10 seconds means it crashed the game and the graphics card kicked into VPU recovery and sometimes when they recover they leave artifacts on the screen because the memory has not been flushed fully. Next time it does that refresh the desktop and it will vanish i'm guessing if not as you did logout or restart.
