The last two times i've booted my pc up, all the graphics are garbage. Until the 'Windows' login screen appears it looks like only two/three colours are being displayed and there's lines and basically a mess on the screen.

Also there was an odd peep noise (not the usualy boot p beeps).

Motherboard is:
Board: ASUSTeK Computer INC. P5Q SE2 Rev X.0x
Serial Number: MT7001K44803427
Bus Clock: 266 megahertz
BIOS: American Megatrends Inc. 0801 03/31/2010

Any ideas guys?

Thanks
Andy

Hey, sorry to hear you're having problems. Came across this problem with a mate and after he checked the usual drivers etc realised he was using a vga cable instead of a dvi one.

Apart from that try reinstalling your drivers and those steps then if that don't work we can move onto other stuff such as ensuring if its card/monitor etc.

Sounds like artefacts to me.

Check the cable of course or swap it for another.

Have you got a gpu or are you using onboard graphics.

If you have a gpu, then uninstall and reinstall the drivers, which is where you should start. If that has no effect, try running off onboard graphics if you have any... if that has the same problem, could be the monitor, but also try uninstalling the reinstalling the onboard gpu drivers.

If not, then either the gpu or onboard gpu is dying and you will need a new gpu or mobo dude...

hope you get it sorted!
