Strange grinding noise

Mum has had a CV joint done on her passat, they also replaced an ABS sensor on the other side which had failed.

Since the work was done, when braking as you just get to a halt, approx 2-4mph there is a horrible grinding noise. This doesnt happen at higher speed, there is no indication of anything being lose and visual inspection everything seems in place.

Any ideas??

stone guard bent, loose wheel nuts?

Nope, looked at stone guards, pads, and calipers all seem fine. Removed, refitted and torqued the wheels so not that.

It doesnt happen at any speed other than a crawl to a halt and then out the blue is the noise!

Take it back and get them to look at it?

Something must be moving under braking to make the noise, possibly the ABS ring or sensor catching something I'd imagine.

Taking it back is a real pain, i had it done local to me as a favour and thats miles from her!
