strange happening's with vista !!!

ive got vista 32 bit,i overclocked my q6600 to 3.4ghz and now vista and core temp are showning it has gone back to 2.4ghz ?

have you checked in bios that it has not reset back to stock?

As above, most likely the overclock wasn't stable and you probably had a bad boot which reset it to stock.

Did you test the overclock was stable?

i didnt check with orthos or what ever its called but my pc was stable for 2 week's and everything was working really well.

you say it was stable for two weeks lol, don't you mean it didnt crash for two weeks?
Doesn't mean it was stable

into the bios look for and disable intel speedstep and C1E.

should sort it

Go back to your original overclock and run prime or Orthos to check for stability, you might need to up the vcore a little bit.

Can end up with corruption too, borking programs and Windows without realising till it is too late.
