It involves a via km400 based motherboard (semperon) and a labtec wireless desktop.

This combination of hardware often freezes the mouse and requires a restart to fix the problem.

The wireless desktop has been working 100% on other systems, so i havent a clue why this combination is freezing :(

Its a Biostar ideq 210v, running 512mb, on board graphics running windows xp.

Any clue as to why it could keep freezing? The wireless module for the keyboard and mouse connect to the system via standard ps2 connectors.

I'm stumped :(

Just out of curiosity, what happens if you swap over the PS/2 connections. (i.e. Mouse into Keyboard and Keyboard into Mouse). :)

Also, are the chipset drivers up-to-date?

Ta!

Hmm havent tried the swap over!

I have installed the latest VIA Hyperon drivers which are suited for the chipset.

Open your run dialog and type in: eventvwr then hit enter. In the Window that opens click on System and have a look at any Warning or Info entries for the time your PC freezes.

If there are any conflicts it should show up as an entry here. Double click an entry to view the details.

It might be utterly incomprehensible so if you aren't sure you can either click on the blue link and see the MS Help entry or you can post it on here and someone should be able to translate :D
