Strange HD7850 problems

alright guys...bit of a weird problem here

I bought a B-Grade 7850 and it was having some trouble yesterday. While it was plugged into my first PCI-E slot it wasn't really working, was struggling to get a display...making weird lines on my screen etc

Today I decided to try it one last time and stuck it in the 2nd PCI-E slot, it now seems to be working. Not really sure what's going on to be honest.

My first PCI-E slot is not faulty as far as I know, as my GTX 780 works fine in it.

Should I still try and return the card? Or does anyone have any ideas on what the issue is?

I'd like to keep it as I got it for a good price and was planning on putting it in a new FX8320 system for my brother.

Did you fully un install the nvidia drivers and install the correct drivers for the 7850?

using latest bios for the board?

latest beta drivers will give the best performance

Yeah, tried uninstalling all Nvidia drivers and so on.

I think i'm running the latest bios on my mobo as I updated it a week or two ago.

The card also seems to be running fine on my brothers older AMD system, not sure what specs it has tbh.

My mobo is a Z77-D3H by the way.
