Strange headset sound problem

I would have put this in sound but it seems to be a windows problem rather than my headset itself.

It is a Corsair H2100 Headset. USB.

Basically my headset will not work in windows for both the sound and microphone, it is one or the other.

I can use the microphone if the speakers are the default playback device (as if the microphone was standalone) but not if the headset is the default playback device (communications default also).

If I use the earpieces for sound that then stops the microphone from picking anything up.

Both parts of the headset work separately, just not together. :(

I have tried flicking around the settings in the sound panel, tried different combinations of default devices. Nothing.

I have reinstalled the drivers, switched USB ports. Nothing.

At a bit of a loss. :( Any ideas?

Had a quick look on the Corsair forums, and there seems to be a lot of issues with this headset.

Sorry, can't help, but I would say that is a driver issue, and going by the forums, it probably won't get fixed.

Are your speakers USB as well? Maybe you could try disconnecting them to see what happens?
Also, do you have any other wireless devices nearby that might be interfering with the headset?
