Im currently having a problem with browsing the internet. Whenever i load IE7 or firefox it does not display any pages, just a blank screen. IE shows this:

Or

and asks me if I want it to diagnose a connection problem (which comes up with nothing). When i close either IE or firefox down they give the error message shown on the second pic above.

However other programs such as Windows Sidebar, Windows Update and such like can use the internet without any problem.

The only way i can browse the net is by going into Control Panel, clicking internet options, then setup new connection at which time it tells me my computer is already connected to the net:

If i then click Browse the internet now then IE opens up and works fine (but only in that instance, if i then try and open another instance through the start menu the problem occurs)

So what the hell is up??? Any suggestions greatfully received

i've just noticed that when i have both a working version of IE open and one that doesn't work, Task Manager says the one that is not working is iexplore.exe *32 and the one that does work is just iexplore.exe

No idea what this means?

iExplorer*32 means you're running the 32Bit version of internet explorer, while iexplorer.exe is the 64Bit version. I can't help you anymore though sorry :(.
