Hi,

The internet on my computer is playing up. I connect to a wireless router and everything works except my browsers. I can send/recieve emails, chat on msn play games fine but i cant view web pages :s

I can ping the router and the other pc's on my network. I've run winsockfix and that didnt work. My firewall is disabled so i dont think that is the problem. Does anyone have any ideas?

I think it happened after i disabled a few services :o I disabled a VPN one (i dont use it anymore) and some symantic ghost ones. After i restarted it didnt work.

help!

Is your router blocking any ports? 80 for example?

Or - you mentioned removing some services - maybe your antivirus is blocking a port.

its not the router - i forgot to mention that everyone elses computer works fine.

I just disabled my antivirus as well and still nothing. Any more ideas?

are there any services that can do this?? I also know its not a DNS problem as i can ping www.google.com etc and firefox says finding xxxx..... then moves onto connecting to xxxxx.... and then i get page cannot be loaded.

strange

edit: i've just found out that https works but http doesnt!!

edit2: My vista works fine, so its just http on my xp install that doesnt work...
