Strange iPhone 5 battery behaviour

Hi all

I woke up this morning with 12% battery left on my iPhone 5. I used the phone for about a minute at which point it promptly turned itself off. I then couldn't switch it immediately back on again due to the battery low symbol. I waited a few minutes and tried again, at which point it turned on fine and reported having 14% of the battery left.

Does anyone know what is going on with this thing?!

Many thanks

Check the charger sits properly in the socket. I had to have my phone replaced due to the build up of pocket lint in the port, causing it to sit at an angle, and not charge properly even after they opened it up and cleaned it out.

If it dies, don't turn it back on straight away as this can damage the battery I've heard.

Wear the battery down till the phone switches off, wait ten minutes, and then charge fully.

Then see if it resolves it...if not...book a genius appointment.

I've had the same issue, once it hit 10%, got the warning and then about a minute later it dies on me.
Mine is jailbroken as well, not sure if that has anything to do with it?
