Woke up to my alarm going off as per usual, slid to unlock and for some reason was greeted with a 'Restore Complete' screen!
I definitely didn't do this myself but what's annoying is that I go through the steps of trying to activate and it tells me it can't be activated, therefore my iPhone is pretty much useless.
Anyone have any advice?? :(

Both my iphone and ipad have done this at some point during the night as well. They now both require activation, which they can't get for some reason!

Were you using a Dev version of iOs 5.1? One of the betas? It looks like the beta has expired, so you (and I) will have to download the official version of 5.1 and then restore the phone to that version using itunes. What a pain. I'm d'loading 5.1 now to see if it will work. Luckily I backed up my phone and ipad just the other day.

Maccy, just to confirm, this does work and will sort your phone out!

Download the 5.1 software from apple.
Load up itunes, connect your phone.
Shift-click "Check for Update" and select the new ipsw file.
It'll take about 10 mins to update but all will work fine afterwards and you wont have lost anything!

Just going to 'fix' my ipad now!

Have seen on the Apple Dev Forums that other people had their beta expire as well.

Glad you got it sorted Trick and hope Maccy can as well

Yeh had to download the official release of 5.1 to fix it. Bit of an annoyance that I wasn't notified but sorted it. Cheers chaps :)
