Strange issue installing windows 11

I have a B450 and 5800x and 16gb ram as my main components at work with windows 11 pro installed, been having a few issues recently so thought i'd just wipe it and start fresh, upon boot after making the usb stick with windows media creation tool it tells me that windows 11 isn't supported on this machine despite it already having it installed, that was using a fresh ssd to install on, anyone had anything similar??

I’ve already got windows 11 installed just trying to reinstall which is the odd bit about it all

My guess is that if you upgrade the installer was more forgiving about having stuff available, but disabled, whereas if you do a fresh install it is stricter.

I’m pretty sure I did a fresh install last time it’s very strange

Ah, maybe Microsoft have just changed it between the installers to be more strict.

I’ve downloaded a newer build will try that next
