Strange Issue with Leadtek 7950GT

Hi Guys

I've got a P5w Deluxe and a new 7950GT for some reason WindowsX64 wont recongise the card as anything other than a Generic VGA adapter, which can support stupidly high resolutions but XP32 recognises it as a Winfast Geforce 7950GT (Nvidia).

However this is what i really dont get althought the drivers that came with the card work (in XP32 only), the Nvidia graphics drivers from the Nvida website, simply refuse to install! Stating that there are no compatible hardware devices. However after spending many hours messing around and trying different drivers i came across some optomised drivers from NGOHQ and these install and work fine!

The card works fine, no problems so far (*touch wood), but I dont get it whats going on, anyone have any ideas?

Hi there

Maybe NVIDIA have not released compatible x64 drivers yet?

You need to search for some BETA drivers that are for x64 windows and have 7950 support.

The board came with some Nvida x64 drivers, but they didnt work. However the x32 drivers work fine in Windows XP... The stupid thing is u can't use the drivers from the Nvida website to update it.

right, which version drivers are you trying to use? have you tried the official 91.47 drivers for x64 at the nvidia site? if they don;t work try the beta 92 series drivers that someone posted on there forums earlier.

I can confirm that these drivers work fine with the 7950gt and XP x64. No problems so far

Nah i gave up on Windows x64 and used Windows XP 32bit. Installed the drivers, which came with the board (41.5). They worked fine in X32 and then drived to use the 41.7 drivers from Nvida, which didnt work.

However i downloaded some "optimised" 41.7 drivers from NGOHQ, which where half the size (18Meg) and they seem to work fine.

So its abit like WTF!?
