Hi all,

Just got my new Gigabyte Windforce 970, and having a strange issue when disabling integrated GPU in the bios and changing first display init to Auto.

Basically I have 2 screens which I want to run off the 970 (different res') so I had one plugged into the DVI port and the other into DP. Anyway I went into the BIOS to disable to the integrated GPU and set the the first display init to auto, did this and now I can't get past post. It hangs on American Megatrends logo (actually if I wait long enough, that disappears after about 2 minutes and leaves just a flashing cursor on the screen.

I tried resetting the CMOS and it still wouldn't boot. The only way I could get it to boot or get into the BIOS was to remove the 970. I then reset everything, enabled integrated GPU and set first display init to IGFX and then put the 970 back in and it booted fine (with one screen plugged into the IGFX and one in the 970. However when I got into windows I got a code 12 error in device manager saying the 970 couldn't start due to the right system resources not being available?

I then plugged both screens back into the 970 and it worked again.

However I now don't see the BIOS page on boot obviously because its set to IGFX for first display init so went back into the BIOS and disabled the IGFX and set it to auto and it won't boot again!

Any ideas?!

EDIT: It basically seems as if whenever the 'First init display' is set to anything other than IGFX it gets stuck at post..

Starting to think its the graphics card :'( It posts fine with my old 7950 :/ Only thing I can think of is the bios needs updating?

what if you set to peg #1? and disable igpu?

and yes bios update to latest version would be first on my list
