Experiencing a strange issue since upgrading my system last week. Upgraded motherboard, CPU & NVME storage & used the other parts from existing system;
Old system & the other systems I have here all boot fine 100% of the time on the panels with the 3080ti as well as restart from within Windows.
Issue experiencing is that it may take a couple of attempts to get the displays to display anything from a cold boot & if select restart in Windows, I will need to then press the reset button on the case a couple of times before they will come back on again. The diagnostic LED's show that everything is fine on booting up & getting the single beep from the PC speaker each time as well. The only time it doesn't do it is if I plug the panels (either one) into the onboard iGPU ports, where it will boot 100% of the time perfectly.
Have tried everything I can think of;
I am leaning towards the RAM even though it is passing the POST etc as not on the QVL list (although identical spec RAM from Corsair is apart from one Alphabet character difference in the product code is on the QVL - same memory chips, timings, voltage, etc), but don't want to purchase more RAM unless it would actually fix the issue as when the system does boot it runs perfectly fine with no issues (until restart!)
Any thoughts or obvious things I might have missed (memory isn't the best nowadays)
- Asus TUF Gaming Z790-Plus WIFI D4
- Intel i9 139900K (doesn't matter if left at stock or auto-OC in XTU)
- Noctua NH-D15 (temps are perfectly fine @65C maximum under load unless running a benchmark) - from old system
- Samsung 980 Pro 1TB (boot/OS)
- Samsung 980 Pro 2TB & Samsung 980 1TB (storage)
- PNY Uprising RTX380ti (ReBar off in Bios as card does not support it & PNY won't update VBIOS to do so) - from old system
- EVGA GQ 1000W PSU - from old system
- 64GB (4x16GB CMW32GX4M2E3200C16 modules (2x32GB matched kits)) Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB DDR4 3200 (XMP1 profile 16-20-20-38 1.35v) - from old system
- Fresh Windows 11 Pro installation
- Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 49" UW & Samsung 28" 4K60 panel (for monitoring purposes) - from old system

Have tried everything I can think of;
- updated BIOS & clearing it several times!
- setting everything as defaults as well as manual settings
- disabling the iGPU completely in the BIOS even though do use QuickSync for encoding/decoding but could live with NVENC if it would solve the issue
- set the GPU boot priority to PEG, auto, etc
- reseated CPU (using contact frame) a number of times, gone back to original socket clamp & tried that with same issue.
- only had the essential items plugged into USB such as keyboard & mouse
- tried with RAM at default JEDEC 2133MT/s as well as XMP I/II (which are exactly the same)
- Added the second 12vEPS cable (4pin only connected as that's all is there on board) today & same issue still as thought it might have needed more than the single 8pin EPS
- Updated firmware on G9 as was one released in October 2023 (no USB ports on 28" panel so cannot update that one)
- Changed DisplayPort cables to new certified DP1.4 ones as well as tried HDMI via certified HDMI2.0a cable (purchased just to try it out in hope it would solve issue)
- Tried multiple refresh rates on G9 & profile settings (after factory resetting each time)
- Tried single, double & all 4 DIMM configurations
