Just upgraded my CPU cooler from stock to a Cooler master 612.

Idle, they are roughly the same - not a big deal as 30deg is OK in my hot room. What i am finding strange though, as even with my Intel cooler, 1 core was reading a fair bit lower (10 degrees) than the other cores.

Now i'm reading 30 29 30 15, and while stress testing @ 3.8Ghz it is 55 59 57 50.

Should i not worry to much about this, temps seem quiet nice so it's not that big of a deal - just seemed a bit odd.

You will always get a discrepancy across the cores by a few degress but if it's much more than that I'd double check, and/or replace, your thermal compound.

I'd also be sceptical of the 15 degree reading on one core at idle. That seems very low.

Well just stuck it at 4.2Ghz and this is what i got.

Does that seem ok?

Others may have their own opinion but I wouldn't be too concerned about a seven degree spread across all the cores at load.

Ok, this is what i got so far

Seems ok, will have to remove it at some point and check/change the TIM for some better stuff. Happy with that for now though!

Cooler is huge, well impressed for the money. Nice design, easy to fit and seems to do a nice job!

Just reseated the 612, using the vertical line method and there is still an anomaly on C4 and C1. Temps havn't really improved, may invest in some non OEM cooler master stuff, however i don't think I'm going to be messing about with the actual Intel thermal grease. 4.5Ghz is enough for now.
