Hey, my girlfriend has a reasonably old computer (P4 S478, generic everything else 
) and for some reason it has recently ceased to work. When it boots up, the keyboard and mouse do nothing. You can access windows for around 3 seconds with the mouse put then this stops all together. I have tried using a different keyboard and mouse, and using USB varities, but got nowhere. I also tried resetting the CMOS but this failed too.
To me it seems like her motherboard has just for some reason failed completely. Accurate diagnosis do you think? Solution = New motherboard? or could it be something else?
