Strange lines on Monitor

Hi,

Have had this problem for a number of months now, and I assumed it was called "Ghosting".

Ive since found out that its not ghosting but somthing else entirely.

Anyone have any ideas?

They are much more noticable on the darker colours.

- big white vertical line on the right side.

My monitor is a 19" Proview CRT and is around 3 years old.

The lines appear when using a 6800GT and a 9700 Radeon.

Doesnt really bother me now since I'm getting a new monitor in the new year, but I'm still curious as to what it is.

OMG!! I've had this problem for ages! Just have'nt got off my ass to talk to samsung about it.

Mines the same except i have blue lines and only shows up against darker blue basically. I need to RMA it back to samsung but cant be bothered as i wont have a monitor for ages!

It is bothering me tho, doesnt show that much. Its just the fact that i know the lines are there that bugs me. I'm that type of person!

Check around the monitor for anything like a power adapter.
The best thing to do is move the monitor to another place and make sure its not the same, sometimes they are subjected to magnetic fields and cause the same kind of lines.

...but Ive always found when a CRT tends to go like this, its on its way out
