Strange memtest+ problem (Possibly not memory related)

Hi, so Im trying to run memtest on my new SB system. Specs are:

i5 2500K
P8Z68-V
Corsair Vengeance 1600C8.

All is up and running at proper voltages and timings and I have a nice stable overclock of 4.5ghz on the CPU. However, when I try and run memtest from bootable usb, it only detects the bclk as 73 and not 100, causing all the memory frequencies to be a lot lower than when in windows. And ofcourse it's pretty pointless stresstesting at that lower speed if I want to use it faster.

Any ideas in the bios where I can set it to detect correctly? The CPU doesnt even show 4500mhz on POST, just 3328 or something strange, but in windows is fine.

Thanks, the bios is literally the same as the P8P67 if any of you owners can help.

Cheers

Very similar set up to mine. I'm having problems too but not where memtest shows the BCLK as low as that. My RAM timings show ok in board and in windows under CPUZ but on memtest its 6-6-6-20

I've went through the BIOS and timings are set to 9-9-9-24

If you want to change your settings load the advanced BIOS menu, select AI tweaker, click Dram settings and you will see the options there to change it.

I get the same when I had mine overclocked...POST only shows it at 3330MHz yet CPUz would show 4500MHz.

Yeah it is strange, think we'll have to wait for an update to memtest. Although I asked a friend online, he mentioned that it is pointless overclocking the memory on SB anyway.

Intrigued, I looked into it further and noticed from benchmarks online that memory speed, both in latency and frequency, rarely had that much impact in real world tests like games and such.

The whole reason I wanted to use memtest was to see if I could get it stable at 1T. After seeing benches showing 2T making the barest minimal difference on SB, I think I'll stick with that and use less voltage :)
