Strange mouse problem (new build)

I have just put my new system together, and now have a strange issue with any mouse I plug into it.
During Windows 7 installation the mouse cursor wouldn't move, I just thought it would be fine after install. It wasn't. This is a new mouse, but it also does it with my old mouse.
The mice work fine in my old rig.
This seems to me that it maybe an motherboard/USB problem.

Specs are:
Intel I7 920
GA-EX58-UD5
6GB Corsair 1600 (3x2GB)
Coolermaster Sentinal Mouse / Logitech MX Revolution (old mouse)

Any help with this is appreciated.

Edit:
I forgot to say that the mouse does seem to work in the new build (the right button context menu shows) but no cursor movement.

Have you gone onto the manufacturers website and got the latest driver from there?

Yes, latest drivers. Although it should work fine without.

can you try any other USB devices in the slots?

USB keyboard seems to work ok

After borrowing a friends mouse for testing it seems the mouse is at fault.

i had an old Microsoft mouse .... only works in some laptops and desktops
