A friend has just bought a new car and it has developed a fault(?). He wants me to have a look (lord only knows why because I am first to admit I know absolutely nothing at all about Cars and their faults/repairs).
Anyway, he described it to me as making a clicking sound (from near the rear wheel(s)) similar to the noise made when you peg a playing card to the spokes of a push-bike. lol.
I haven't the faintest idea and told him to take it to a garage, but he is adamant he wants me to have a look to see if I can spot the cause of the problem.

Its a Renault (megane scenic) - does this fault sound familiar? Any ideas what it could be, if its serious?

Thanks

If it has hubcaps, pull them off then try driving it.

A lot of these ABS plastic things that car companies stick on the wheels seem to make those kind of noises. My wife's Neon makes FOUR of those noises. One for each wheel. But trying to convince her to let me buy REAL wheels for it is like trying to make Mt St. Helens erupt on cue. It just ain't gonna happen....
