Strange P5B Deluxe onboard network problem

Hi folks,

Odd one this. I've got the latest BIOS and latest Marvell drivers for the onboard PCIe (PCI is disabled) network card.

Basically on a cold start (i.e. power on, or power off then on) the network card runs at 1Gbps. If I do a soft reset (either front button or Windows restart) it drops to 100Mbps??

Any thoughts on what could cause this? It's annoying more than anything.

I've been running an Intel PCIe card and that stays at 1Gbps no matter what.

Is it set to 1gb in network properties or is it auto?

It's Auto, none of my Gigabit network cards (including the Intel one) have Gigabit in there, only Auto, 100Mbps, 10Mbps as far as I remember.

The onboard PCI adaptor on my server always stays at gigabit speeds as well.

Did it do it before the BIOS update ?

I think it's resolved, the latest drivers I have allow you to force 1Gbps
