Strange PC power behavior

Hi,

Just recently my PC starting behaving very strangely after pretty much one year of no issues in this particular build -

It started by when I press the power button everything fires up for a split second, fans, fan controller, lights etc then it goes of, pretty much one second later everything fires up on its own

Also today I had an issue where the above continues to occur but the PC would boot with no image displayed and no power to the keyboard and mouse, after re-seating literally everything this seems to have stopped but the first issue remains

Any ideas? Maybe the PSU is on its way out as it does seem power related? Its almost three years old but its a Seasonic X Series Gold rated PSU

Thanks

Sounds more like an issue with the PSU from what you've described. Your PSU has a five year warranty so i would personally just RMA it.

It was overclocked I've reset it all back to standard in an an attempt to resolve the issue

I thought the PSU had a 3 year warranty, if its 5 thats great I may send it back but I'll attempt to clear the CMOS first

Thanks

Resetting the CMOS appears to have the cleared issue, thank you very much, was in talks with Seasonic today about RMA'ing my PSU and looking at no PC for a week or so!

I wonder why the overclock caused this though, never had issues with other builds

Thanks again

its cold booting mine dose it all the time, the motherboard is struggling to post with your current over clock when cold could be unstable of just a bad setting.

In the past my Gigabyte boards did this, have a check for any latest BIOS updates, has helped me in the past.

Its happened again with standard clocks, got home and fired up the PC and no display or power to peripherals, after a few reboots and removing the power cable I reset the CMOS again and it all fired up, weird thing is the clock is out in Windows by the amount of time that the issue occurred until the point I reset the CMOS (I think)

Raised a ticket with Gigabyte, starting to think this is motherboard related rather than PSU

The only newer BIOS available is a beta bios and everything has been fine for the past year on the current bios
