strange popping sound after rebuiling my rig

Well i did a really thorough clean out the other week removed everything re-did the wiring adding a sound card put my psu upside down (corsair HX750) etc etc etc. Now evertime i turn my PC on or off it makes this weird electrical popping sound 2 times before shutdown or during post.

really bugging me now and wondering what the culprit could be. i've had my ear to the case but can;;t seem to pinpoint the noise for love nor money

Sounds to me like your soundcard. Mines does the same when I click into folders for some stupid reason. It's connected to an amp right enough.

What sort of speakers have you got?

Is the popping definitely coming from inside the case and not the speakers.

Yeah your right i just took the card out and the popping stopped installed it and it started again. After confirming with the missus it's definately the card the sound is coming from and it seems to make the sound when the optical output initiates (red light comes on or whatever it is that it does)
