Hi all,

Really Strange one for you,

My PC will no longer power up, I turned it off last night as usual, and I go to switch it on and nothing! I have tried to reconnect anything that seemed loose, but nothing was!!!

In the past few weeks the computer sounded like it shut down but screen was still on (no lights on the case etc.), randomly.

Specs are as follows:

Hiper TypeR 480w PSU
Asus A8N32-Sli Deluxe
AMD Athlon 4200+
2x 512 Twinmos Ram
1x Generic Ram
1x 80gb hdd
1x 120gb hard drive

Unfortunately I cannot find my 20-24 pin adapter so cant test if its the PSU.

Thanks in advance

Sound like a problem with your power supply, try running some test programmes like orthos and check your memory with mem test,
Did something simular with my uncles pc and orthos failed within 15 seconds, tried my power supply worked a treat.

The computer wont switch on :(

Sounds like what I've just been through. My PSU is borked though, and after trying my replacement today my motherboard's green LED comes on - but the machine doesn't power on. I think it's motherboard RMA time :(

Sorry :o should have read your post properly, watching TV and reading the forums don't go well :p.

Right it could still be a possible power supply fault, remove all power cables to your components and connect if possible one fan to the power supply, link out pins 13 & 14 on your ATX power connector and see if the PSU starts if it does, it could be a possible fault with the power on switch on your case or motherboard problem.

Link below is the maual for the Swiftech water cooling kit, page 22 shows the pins to link out.
