I've had a problem with a Lexmark multi-function printer (printer/scanner/copier) which takes both a black and a colour cartridge. Upon inserting a brand new colour cartridge and closing the machine, the LCD display tells me to insert a colour cartridge - even though I have just done so.
I have removed the plastic strip thing from the connectors and I have inserted it correctly. I have tried removing and re-inserting it several times; all to no avail.
What could be the cause of this error? Is the brand new cartridge faulty, or is the printer itself broken? Is there anything else I can try?
