Hi

Since I installed my new 4870x2 last week my pc seems to be struggling to boot up. You press the power button and everything comes on as normal but the boot up does not start.....you can here the fans speedup for a few seconds, then they slow down again then back up again...it may do this 3 or 4 times then it suddenly kicks in and you get the beep and it boots up ok....could this be my psu struggling a bit

I have a thermaltake toughpower 700 watt and on reading up on it it should be more than enough for my system as according to what i have read my system is a bout 565 watt with all its components....I have run 2 x 4870's in the past in xfire no problem before....could it be the psu on its way out or am I on the wrong track.

I have tried re-setting bios to defaults and flashed to the lates bios but its still the same. Any ideas what is could be

thx

Your PSU should be fine, 700W is more than enough - and as you say it coped with 2 x 4870's.

Possibly a dodgy card, can you try it in another machine?

Failing that, try an RMA.

Do you think it could be the card....dont know if its just a coincidence that it seemed to start after installing it....Once the pc is up and running it runs great...no problems gaming or anything....I cant try it in another m/c

thx
