Not sure if this is the right forum or maybe it should be in the windows forum.
I have a strange problem with my windows 10 pc where no games will load on first boot - they always say 'failed to load' or 'error in loading'.
If I reboot my pc everything loads up just fine?
Seems bizarre I know lol.
Anyone shed some light on what could be causing this issue - seems I have a pc that boots like lightening now I have windows 10 but is unusable for gaming till I've rebooted it!!

Do these games rely on an online service like steam etc?
Are you sure your booting up from shutdown and not just recovering from sleep?

I was thinking if the machine was recovering from sleep it might be that the online service just hasn't re-connected yet.

Alternatively maybe your firewall is being slow on startup and blocking outgoing requests.

There are no error codes as such.
It is steam games that I notice it on mainly as the majority of my games are based there but its the same for emulators outside steam as well.
I'm definitely booting from whatever Windows 10's version of shut-down is (some sort of low power state as I can load windows just by pressing the keyboard)....

Sounds like this maybe an issue. 10 is in suspension and one of your processes needs a full re boot to start. Mine turns itself off completely when I shut down, no issues.

Sounds like you're not shutting down, just going into low power mode. Shut down and it should work fine when you boot.
