Hi guys i wonder if you can help me with a strange problem i have with my brothers pc.
I recently built me and my bro 2 identical systems but the only difference is i have a 74gb raptor and he has a samsung 500gb hard drive.
The specs are;
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 LGA775 'Wolfdale' 3.00GHz
G.Skill 4GB DDR2 PK PC2-8500C5
Asus P5Q Duluxe
Powercolor ATI Radeon HD 4870 512MB
Corsair HX 520W ATX2.2 Modular SLI Compliant PSU
Now i had problems with this setup before with age of conan, Were the game would either have loads of messed up textures and then crash. Or the system would reboot. I went through silly amounts of things to try and fix this problem before with age of conan and found it was more stable when i messed around with the ram voltage and the fsb.
But more importantly now im playing warhammer online, And i havent had too many problems with this game so far, By brothers pc has started acting up again. Its normally when he has been playing from around 10-20 minutes when the game will completly freeze but you can still hear the game running through the sound. You can tab out and click dont send on the vpu recovery and it restarts the graphics card and you can tab back into the game and it will carry on working fine for 10-20 minutes and then do that again. Now this ONLY happening to my brother pc and my pc is completly stable.
Now i have looked on the internet for solutions to this problem and found a topic here they all had this problem but they had the sapphire cards and not the powercolor one, And they said that updating the bios fixes this. But i didnt know weather this would be a good idea or not?
I have run memtest for 6 hours and didnt get 1 error so i cant see it being a problem with the memory like with age of conan? everything is telling me its the graphics card, But i bet if i run any benchmark software i could leave it there for hours with no problems.
Any thoughts?
Thanks for reading.
ps sorry if this is in the wrong place, I guess it could be a software problem but wasnt sure if it could be a hardware fault aswell, As people have said it could be psu issue under fullload.
