Strange problem with front USB 3.0 port

Hi, having a strange problem. On my front usb 3.0 port I can use it as a USB 2.0 port perfectly, however if I enable USB 3.0 mode on my phone it instantly starts a constant disconnect and reconnect loop.

I've checked the USB header on my mobo(ASUS H81M plus mATX) and it's connected properly. I've also disabled USB selective suspend and have disabled 'allow the computer to turn this device off' for all USB root hubs via device manager. The rear USB 3.0 ports work perfectly fine.

Has anyone got any ideas on how to fix this? I'm stumped! :confused:

According to the manual the onboard USB headers are 2.0 only.

It's definitely a 19pin USB 3.0 header on the mobo.

Says USB3.0 is supported. Try turning off UASP mode in case that's affecting it.

What case do you have? Given that you said the rear ports work fine, I'd guess it's a poor quality/faulty front panel extension.

It's a BitFenix neos. How do I turn that off? I've tried using the ai suite and all it gives me is this:

There's no option on my supplied CD to install any sort of usb boost driver. I thought it was probably a hardware fault as well, but I find it weird how the port works perfectly fine with usb 2.0 mode.
