well for past few weeks ive been playing wolfenstien no problem at all on my computer up until last night i cant no longer even play a video....

my setup is:

4930k with antec 1250 cooler
asus rampage iv black AC edition mobo
16gb samsung green ram
Corsair ax1200i psu
1tb samsung ssd
3tb hitachi 7200rpm deskstar
crossfire r9 290 4gb sapphire (one tri x and one reference)

well yesterday the problem started i was looking online for walking dead new episode found it downloaded it and then my pc was acting sluggish with mouse movements and video was choppy i thought it was just a dodgy copy so found another with a differnt codec still done same thing.

i then thought must be the new 14.9.1 drivers as it was fine for months on the previous 14.8 so i reverted back doing ddu and starting from scratch....

still the same

so then i disabled crossfire (using my tri x as only card) and then it played fine

so today i try to run heaven benchmark i get 52.1fps on ultra 8x 1080p on my tri x (without crossfire) so then i plug the tv's hdmi into the reference r9 290 and then it went for about a minute then dropped to 1-2fps and caused the computer to run like crap so i though card must have gone bang....

so i remove the reference card out the computer and have just one card in there the tri x and load up windows and try to run heaven again....

this runs for about 1 min and then again drops to 1-2fps so i thought this must be dodgy card (although it ran fine when both were in the pc and using as master display)

so i put the suspected reference 290 back in and remove the tri x.... same thing 1-2fps....

so i put a 100% known working r9 280x dual oc in and that craps out after 1 minute too....

now i have a nvidia 750ti 2gb in for now and can complete a ultra heaven 4.0 bench at a amazing 15fps average on 1080p lol but at least it works for now

so what could be problem? GPU?(dont think so as even a known working one isnt working) PSU? MOBO?

i dont have another psu to try out and my cpu is always under 45c even when under load (antec 1250 does a great job)

ram is fine as i done a mem test and it passed

anyone had a similar experience?

i think i have got a mining bug as my cpu is nearly maxed out now i have the nvidia in but when i put my ati in the gfx is then going slow for me, what program would i use to see gpu usage?

sorted it, it was a mining virus, microsoft security essientials nor malware bytes pro did not even detect it even on full scan, i had to use another program called emsisoft emergency kit which found 5 malwares on my pc that malware bytes did not detect... bad play on malware bytes part think im going to change my sub to emsisoft instead
