strange problem

ive just biult the pc with the following spec and when i go to power up everything turns on fine fans etc but the monitor cant get a signal and the cd drive has the led stuck on and wont open and cant hear the ahrd dricve trying to boot any ideas??

Connect the graphics card to whatever molex allows connection to the PSU. Just make sure you connect it to the PSU. Otherwise you will not get a signal to the monitor.

As stated previously, make sure you have the IDE cables are the right way round, If there is a light continuously on, this generally means that there cable is the in the wrong way round.
 
ive plugged it into the first pci express slot display below of what it looks like

PCIEX16_1 big slot

PCIEX1_1 small slot

PCIEX16_2 big slot


ive plugged it into the top one im not using crossfire or anything as i dont have 2 cards have i plugged it into the right one ?
 
ive deffo got it in the right slot

on the back there is 2 dvi slots ive got it on the right one and using a dvi to vga connector still aint powering monitor up though :S

You have 2 PCI-E slots.

1 blue one PCI-E

Then a PCI slot

Then a 2nd black PCI-E

Common sense would tell me to use the Blue slot when running one card!!!
