Strange problem

Hi all

I am having a problem with my old system and was hoping for your views on what it may be.

On pressing the power button the power light flashes and nothing appears to happen. But if I leave the system on - after about 5 minuts it starts.

The system is a AMD 3800, a gi or RAM, x5 hard drives and x2 DVD drives and it has a Antec phantom PSU.

My thoughts are that it is a PSU problem - any thougts please?

Odd problem, first thing I would try disconnecting the power button and short out the pins with a screwdriver to turn it on and see what happens, could be a faulty button.

After that Id try disconnecting the power from everything but the mobo and gfx if it needs it. and see if the machine will post. If it does, then probably need a new psu.
