Strange processes keep stopping - vista

I've been waking up to find messages like these 4 from this morning..

173968430.exe has stopped working
188463684.exe ""
188381971.exe ""
174054246.exe ""

they are all at different times as they are in different windows, windows appears stable as it carries on working and for example leaving some processes I started running.

Its overclocked so could it be instability?

Obviously I'm concerned because they look like processes that don't want to be identified with text..

Anyone got any ideas?

Spyware / adware / malware / virus? Search for the names and see if there is a corresponding file.

yeah just run adware/spyware, searched in windows and google for the filenames and got nothing.

I'd be concerned as your are about that, it looks rather suspicous.

Have you checked the registry, in particular SOFTWARE->Microsoft->Windows->CurrentVersion->Run to see if there is anything that is set to start up that looks dodgy. Also check the services for start up processes that look suspect, particularly things set to Automatic.

yep, all clear, I'm all over my msconfig as well, I have about 5 processes set to startup with windows, half of those are defender and nvidia files!
