ok I played the beta and think I had the same issue but forgot how I got around it!
I've a dual monitor setup here with a X1900XT card and ultramon running,
when I first tried to start the game I got about 1 inch on screen on the left with moving textures (looked ok) but the rest was black, I tried the autoexec.cfg thing with running windowed but that gave me the same results, I copyed over my old CFG files from beta to see if that worked but it gave me the same result as before (1 inch of screen working)
so then I tried draging the window over to my 2nd monitor (left side) and lo, it worked, it seems that the 1 inch of working screen was the overlap,
but the thing is my left monitor is a 17'' crud thing, I'd like to have it working on my right side 20'' widescreen monitor please!
I've tried disabling ultramon and fiddling with settings etc but to no joy
any ideas?
I'd rather not have to disable my monitor every time I play!
system is as follows
3.2GHZ C2D
ATI x1900XT 256
Windows XP Pro (all up to date on windows update)
17'' TFT (left) 20'' Widescreen TFT (right)
latest ver of ultramon to streach desktops over,
ATT V1.2.6.964 for overclocking
Omega Drivers v3.8.421 (based on 7.10 iirc)
[edit]
just tested and if I disable the 2nd monitor in ultramon I can get the game to start but then I get a CTD
