Hi Guys,

At work I have 2 PC's

PC 1 = PC with 2 Monitors
PC 2 = PC with 1 monitor

Is there anyway I can do the following,
PC1 will always have 2 monitors, but can use PC2's monitor when needed as a 3rd display?

I think you can get switches which allow a monitor to switch between PC inputs (i used to have one at work) but then you would need to change the resolution of that PC display everytime the 3rd screen comes into play.

This is assuming your first PC has the outputs for 3 monitora.

The way the switch worked is the 2 displays (from the PC) would go into the switch and the output of the switch would go into the monitor. It used a keyboard shortcut (keyboard also attached to switch) to go between the 2.

AH! Thats the main problem... I should have mentioned this in the OP.....

PC1 and PC2 only have 2 output's for Monitors.
There any type of software I can use.

Synergy http://synergy-foss.org/ allows you to use one keyboard and mouse over 2 computers.

I'm not sure if this is what you were looking for. It basically uses both computer so pc1 has 2 monitors and pc2 has 1 monitor but if you move the mouse over to pc2's screen you can controll that computer.

Basically 3 screens but on 2 computers.

Works with Windows mac and linux
