Hopefully this is in the right section. Right finally been able to put my Pc together, but ive been having a few issues. Specs are

DFI Ultra-d UT NF3 motherboard
3700+ SD @2732 248x11
512 OCZ Gold 3700
Maxtor 40gb hdd
x800 pro @stock 500/500.

Ok my first problem was installing my Maxtor 200gb hdd (ide) for some reason the board wasnt detecting it, so ive put a old 40gb hdd and its detected that, could my Hdd be broken?

Right the secound problem is my temperatures, using speed fan because my board drivers dont have any tools, But im not sure on the exact temp becuase the programes im using including my bios are really strange its reading it like; idle 36 - but then jumps down to 15 then upto 20 then back to 36  same with load, im using a AC64pro Any ideas?

Many thanks Alan.

ok ive updated the bios stopped the temp jumping around so much, but when using speedfan im getting a error saying 'F75383 at $4C msg : error in READTEMPSINTERNAL'
wtf. Prime is completly stable at these speeds but the problem is i dont accually know the REAL temp

I have that motherboard and to be honest mate i dont trust the temp readings. Your best bet is to purchase a temp probe / monitor, they can be picked up for pretty cheap from the OCUK store :)

does your jump around too?

onboard monitoring has been know to do these types of things as they just do not work. I would just get a temp probe like suggested and get a real read out.
