Strange reboots...

I'm not sure why, probably 8 times out of 10 when I plug something into one of my USB slots, my system reboots. It never used to happen but since I upgraded to Windows 7 in December, it happens a lot. Anybody have any idea why this is, google has been of no use to me

Does it go through the 'windows is shutting down' screen or just power off and then back on again?

Sounds like a short on the USB port.

If you have the problem on all USB ports then this is most certianly the case because they use the same controller or root hub so a short on one will affect them all since they share a ground.

Try a PCI card and test that.
