Strange Sever 2008 problem

Guys

Would like some help if someone knows the answer to this one.

Am having a weird problem with Server 2008. It sharing its drives with the rest of my systems. Now the problem is that when I try to copy over a big file (6gb) to the movie folder it states I havent enough space on the drive even when there is 260gig left on it. Its a 1TB drive.

Now the strange thing is.. If I copy that file over to the root of that drive it works fine and when i then drag it in to the folder from the root its fine.

Im confused.

Check your folder permissions and check the owner is you (administrator) and that has full access.

Have you got Quotas enabled on the drive?

Right click the drive, Properties > Quota tab

It isn't a FAT32 drive is it? Had me puzzled for a while!

Hmm didnt think 2008 liked FAT32 and also he says its fine from the root?

so when you copy a small file it works ok?

can you create a folder on the shared drive ok?

is it an instant fail or does it copy for a while then fail?

have you checked the event logs, incase it says anything useful?
