Im using onboard sound on an asus A8N-SLI Deluxe with Creative Inspire 6.1 Speakers. Im having a problem with the volume control, basically if i adjust the volume on the speakers, it goes to said volume and the slowly decreases and goes either very quiet or very loud over about 5 seconds, and its pretty hard to get a decent volume on the slider without moving it very slowly till the volume is constant. (note the volume wheel is stationary when the volume goes very loud or very quiet.)
Now I did not have this problem when i was using linux a couple of weeks ago but had it before and after when using windows, which makes me think it is not a hardware issue, but i dont understand how it could be a driver problem? All system sound settings seem fine. I am using the latest asus audio driver.
Any ideas?
