Strange sound problem

I think its software related but who knows...
So I moved my computer to this new place im staying at and set it up with the wireless router network in the house with a USB wifi adapter Ive got. All fine but then I went on youtube and the video didnt have any sound, then i noticed MSN wasnt sounding the alerts when someone came online etc, yet when i went to play a movie, or music off my HDD in WMP it played it fine with sound. Anyone like to help me out here?

have you tried downloading the latest drivers? check in device manager, might need to unistall the device the search for hardware changes and let it reload.try windows update if you cant find any new drivers

ok, the jack was in the wrong plug, why it still played stuff in WMP i dont know
