Strange spam emails

Yesterday I received a spam email which is dated 01/01/1970 00:00. I just deleted it.

I've just received another. Not sure if its the same email, but its from a different sender. Both are @yahoo accounts.

How can this date & time be made like this?

have you checked the time and date on your own PC?

failing that they maybe changing the date and time on their system to this before sending the e mail, to be honest not too sure lol.

You're email client is just interpreting what has been sent - I'm sure it's quite easy to spoof the date if they wanted - not sure why they would but hey, it's spam.

block their e mail address and think no more of it lol

That's the Unix Epoch:

As to why, the mailserver they're using to send the spam is probably configured with an invalid date/ time, and so is reverting to the Epoch value

Shouldn't be able to recognise that off the top of my head

My date and time is correct. I just thought the received date/time was the taken from the mail server is was sent to. I'll just ignore them and delete them.
