hey guys, i have a really weird problem which i have being trying to figure out for a while now, and it's really starting to **** me off, because normally when i have a computer problem i eventually get to the bottom of it, but this one im a bit clueless...
basically i have a 5.1 setup connected to my computer with a 6 channel input from my yamaha receiver to my computer. so:
computer ---> reciever (that is 3 wires, with the 3mm jack from computer to receiver with red and white phono at the reciever end. -----> receiver outputs to 5.1 speakers.
it has worked fine while i was at uni house, but since i moved back i can't seem to get seperate channels out of the left and right speakers!! both front and rare... the center and sub has seperate channels.
below is what i use to test if the channels work properly:
as u can see when i click on left speaker at front or rare the sound comes out of both, and when i click on right speaker at front or rare the sound comes out of both.... it sounds like one of those problems thats easily fixed only u have to know how! which i dont...
when i unplug the white phono (for right speaker) at reciever end for either front or rare set, sounds comes out of the right speaker when i click EITHER right or left on the speaker test diagram.
when i unplug the red phono (for left speaker) at reciever end for either front or rare set, sounds comes out of the left speaker when i click EITHER right or left on the speaker test diagram. surely when i unplug one of the channel, lets say left phono then when i click on the diagram's left speaker there should no sound! rather then sound from right speaker?
does anyone have any ideas at all??? any suggestions r much much appreciated, thanks!
also here is how my reciever is connected
like i said it used to work fine before the move... does it sound like a hardware problem?? i hope not.
ps. i have an abit ic-7 max3 mobo, im using the onboard sound card.
