Hi there. I'm not sure if this is software or hardware related. It could be either tbh and I've had a bad run of luck with hardware over the past 9 month so I'm posting here.

Cpu: 3700x
Mobo: msi mpg b550 gaming edge wifi
Ram: kingston hyper x fury rgb 32gb 3200mhz
Psu: seasonic focus 850 watt

I had a strange system freeze and I have no idea what caused it. Ive never seen this before. It happened like this.

I was using the emulator pcsx2. I just quit by pressing escape. I tried to close the emulator but it wouldn't respond to mouse clicks. So I tried cntrl/alt/del but it wouldn't respond. I then tried to click on other windows that were open but none of them were responding.
That's when I realized the hdd led wasnt flickering. No activity at all.
It was about then that the mouse stopped working. It stuttered at first the stopped moving completely and never came back.

Now I sat and watched it for a while. There was no hdd light activity the whole time. Every now and then the screen would update. Ie the mouse pointer changed to the loading disk. But I never got control back. I had to push the reset button on my tower.

Once I hit reset, it loaded and worked as normal again. I checked event viewer but it only has an unexpected shutdown entry. No clue as to what caused it.

Can anyone help me figure out if this was software or hardware related?

It's happened a few times. Last time was last night. I was listening to music and it froze on me again. Btw the hdd led stopped working again a good 5mns before it froze.

Tbh, based on what I've seen, I'm pretty certain my 1tb sabrant nvme drive is starting to fail. My windows drive.
I had other issues last night. I turned my pc on and it wouldn't go past the post screen. When I checked the diagnostic led on the motherboard, it was at "no boot device". I had to turn off the pc at wall and turn back on to get it to show up and work again.

So I've backed up all my data. I'm thinking about pulling this drive and rma the bloody thing. It's been nothing but bother since I got it.
