Strange Temps

Hi! Built a new system and the temperatures are kind of strange.

The System temp reads 34'c/93'f. But the CPU reads 18'c/64'f.

Now my room is cold at the moment, we dont have any heating - but i cant see how my CPU can be that much colder than my System. Is it possible that these 2 temps are switched round e.g. System is CPU and CPU is system?

Speed Fan 4.32, easy tune (program that come with motherboard) both read these same temps.

Something seems strange here.

The temps are reading so low that my fan in my tuniq tower has actually turned itself completely off because it doesnt need to be on...but again this could be a wrong temperature.

Any ideas folks.

oh by the way the computer isnt overclocked yet.

Try using intel TAT.

Thats more like it! 30'c CPU0 and 28'c CPU1. Well that cleared that one up!

Wow when i put a 100% workload on either of the cored, they jump up to 40'c and climb to 48-50'c in a matter of mins. Worrying that the fan is still not coming on though  .

Thanks w3bbo

Np. Your fan won't come on becuase your motherboard is saying your cpu is cool enough without it. In your bios, set the cpu fan to manual rather than auto. Your fan should then start working;)

Smart, i've set it so i control its speed with the little knob that the cooler come with now.

Now for some overclocking I guess.

I've never overclocked before, but i've done a little bit of reading.

I'd like to ask a favor of someone on these boards. If anyone has any kind of IM chat programs (e.g. Messenger or the like) would they be able to chat to me on my laptop while i attempt to overclock my new computer? Just for some re-assurance (i'm one of them people who get really worried about these things) and it would be fantastic for someone with some experience just to double check things! :)

Thanks for any help! I'd really appreciate it.
