Hi Guys,
Bit of a strange one not sure if anyone has come across this at all its an odd one and left me stumped! Feels like some strange QOS functionality but cannot seem to find a reason!
On a new PC, whilst running certain multiplayer games I am finding that whilst said application runs fine it is seriously hampering bandwidth availability to other programs. My feeling is it must be something buried in W10 or PC settings as this did not happen on my old machine!
Basically whilst I normally have 50mb/s plus normally this dips down when in certain games. When doing a speedtest the ping part takes ages to resolve and you can see from the graph + test that the throughput is 'choppy' and almost bursty. I can literally quit out of said game and my connection maxes out again instantly. Pages are slow to load and streams become sporadic.
I have googled with little result and whats is really quite strange is how not every game triggers it. For example based on a few things I have installed LoL & WoW do wheras Dota 2 and a couple of other things dont. Similarly tested likes of FO4 and Deus ex which as single player have no effect on connectivity
Tried:
Disabling group policy QOS and packet QOS in adapter settings
Testing via another device (to rule out router issue - no QOS set on router)
Testing in a VM environment (still same if game running outside of environment)
Disabling of firewall/protection via antivirus etc
Updated network adapter drivers for my MB
Various combinations of settings in said games and many more things besides.
Any suggestions at this point would be appreciated, its very strange!
