Having a strange issue with my MBA this morning.

Tried to connect to my works WiFi - as per the last year, and its not allocating me an IP address. Thought hmm thats odd, tried a static IP, pings all die - 100% loss.

Tried rebooting, deleting the WiFi interface itself from the settings window, and also deleting and re-connecting to the WiFi network to see if that was an issue. I can also successfully connect to any other Wifi network. The odd thing is, everyone else is connected to the network just fine on a multitide of devices.

Ive got it working by spoofing the MAC Address, which has somehow tricked it into accepting a DHCP lease and now im online, but obviously this isnt permanent. Does anyone have any suggestions on what could be causing this? It sounds like a corrupt file somewhere that needs blowing away.

Cheers,
Sam

I've seen this occasionally with Macs, usually something screwy with the configuration of the AP, or an 802.11d problem in my experience.

Not sure if it'll definitely be a fix but this was a fix for some weird Thunderbolt Display Ethernet issue that sounds similar I've seen a few times.

System Preferences > Network > Select Wifi > Advanced > TCP/IP > Configure IPv6 : Link-local Only.
