Strange windows 11 notepad issue

On a work laptop so adding removing is none negotiable.

Using new notepad as a quick scrap book... Pasting usually product codes or something in now gives a weird formatting around pasted text to say Google sheets.

987654321
for example will have an invisible space after. Is there a way to disable this extra character when pasting multiple lines?

The space would probably be carriage return/line feed, without it the numbers would be on the same line (That's what I see copying your number into Notepad++). There should be no issue when pasting to other applications.

Notepad used to strip all the formatting, but it doesn't anymore
