Strange windows problem

Since yesterday whenever I open a program or a program opens a new window it will appear behind the current window. So for example when I have explorer open and click on a movie file it will cause windows media player to open but the explorer window will still be infront of it. This is starting to annoy me now and as far as I know I have not made any system changes. No viruses found or spyware.

An unexpected benefit of the problem is that things seem to open quicker and explorer is a lot faster navigating through all my files but I would rather it revert back.

Any ideas you knowledgeable bunch?

Nevermind found my answer now.

A simple registry edit: Microsoft Support

EDIT: Forget the above. It seemed to have worked when I first restarted my computer but shortly reverted to back to being problematic. Maybe a program doing something hence why the problem didn't occur straight away?

I might start with checking my tasks. Perhaps Explorer is set for a higher priority? Anyway, something is keeping that as the active window, and Task Manager should tell you.
