right this is doing my head in now.

went to play gt5 earlier and no signal getting to my monitor tried hdmi port 2 and still no signal.

plug it into my hdtv and hey presto i get a signal try 4 different hdmi leads and i still get a signal on my tv. (at this point i think the monitor is at fault)

go back to my monitor try the same 4 leads and no signal again this is where you would say it's the monitor, BUT turn my x box 360 on plugged into the same hdmi lead i just tried the ps3 in and it works fine but the ps3 refuses to work.

WTF is going on

Have to say I have had the same problem arise with my PS3 in the last week.

Monitor is perfectly fine, every other device via that port works fine.

I was actually beginning to blame it on the cable since I couldn't believe it was the PS3.

Unplugging and replugging the HDMI cable, combined with a reboot or two of the PS3 seems to get things working again, it is very bizarre.

what monitor do yo uhave?

ok seems to be working again i unplugged the monitor from the wall for a few minutes plugged it back in and it works. all i can think is something inside the monitor had some kind off seizure and said FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUU.

technology is so great when these stupid problems arise that don't make sense, especially how the 360 worked but the ps3 wouldn't

What res does each panel run at?

I swear PS3s do some sort of retarded thing where you manually have to set the res, so if the monitor isnt 1080p it wont pick it up.

Just a suggestion though :)

There is some kind of reset you can perform on the PS3 when connecting via HDMI its some strane thing no doubt 'security or protection' related when switching displays its bizarre if it happened on the monitor it's always been connected to. I had to do the reset once found the info via google.
